Need a quick fix for your space this summer? Well I did! My home was beginning to look like a winter hunting lodge! I needed something quick and simple! Read below to see how I decorate for the change of seasons, simple solutions, creating a go to inventory and summer decor!
Take a quick inventory of the decor in your space that can be easily changed out! For example: in your bedroom you can replace your current duvet or in your living room you can replace the throws and or pillows on your couch! Start small and branch out from there! Even wall art/ frames can be easily changed out with a little bit of planning. For instance; I have 3 matching frames above my couch and each change of season I take them down and change the prints in them! I keep them all in the frame behind the current print so I can quickly and easily switch them out! Depending on the location in my home I also have a go to inventory of wall art (amongst other things!) that I switch out for seasons and holidays!
Here is a picture of the prints I changed out and on the couch I threw a Boho Faux Sheepskin on the back from Woodwaves to brighten up the couch and give a little bit of edge to the look! These sheepskins are all the rage right now and we offer them in multiple colors!
Slowly I have built an inventory of frames, art, pillows, throws, rugs, candles, vases, faux plants, duvet covers etc. And, yes, the list goes on forever! Also, I did all of this in a tiny condo! So if you are organized, even in a small space, this is possible! My decorating per season seriously only takes like 15 minutes! I pull out all of the pieces I want to display for the season, take down the previous season and replace everything! It takes about another 15 minutes to reorganize last seasons decor and put it away!
Now onto Summer! Think bright, white, fresh and clean! You can't go wrong with white and muted tones to give your space a fresh, summery and organic feel! Light colored throws, pillows, art work, vases and the list goes on! After you lighten things up a bit throw in some pop colors! Whether you favor aqua blue, gold, green or a variety of jewel tones for a colorful and fun vibe! Remember always start out with a blank pallet and build upon it!
Below is a screen shot of @farmhouseforfive_ interior design blogger's instagram account. Using beautiful and muted toned bird prints from Woodwaves, along with white washed reclaimed window panes she creates a bright, organic and summery atmosphere! A little goes a long way! Also, below I have linked the Farmhouse for Five Blog post for more details on how this awesome look was created!
